By combining operational excellence and innovation, this initiative reflects PORTSEC&#8217;s commitment to supporting the modernisation of infrastructure and strengthening the security of Cameroon&#8217;s main maritime hub, thereby contributing to its attractiveness and economic growth.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A strategic partnership for world-class security<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of DPS 3, PORTSEC is deploying innovative solutions to guarantee a level of security that complies with ISPS (International Ship and Port Facility Security) standards. These efforts help to secure port operations while ensuring a climate of confidence for investors and economic operators.<\/p>\n<p>Key initiatives implemented by PORTSEC include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>New security infrastructure<\/strong>: Construction and modernisation of buildings dedicated to the port police, customs and gendarmerie, guaranteeing optimal conditions for surveillance and intervention.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Optimising human resources<\/strong>: Increasing the number of security staff by 200, with training support to ensure enhanced surveillance and greater responsiveness.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Advanced technological systems<\/strong>: Implementation of modern surveillance devices, including smart cameras, biometric access control systems and surveillance drones.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Emergency response unit<\/strong>: Deployment of specialised teams (05 doctors and 20 nurses) in crisis management, equipped with ambulances and first aid equipment to ensure a rapid response in the event of an incident.<\/li>\n<li><strong>A state-of-the-art naval simulator<\/strong>: Installation of the first maritime training simulator in Central Africa, enhancing the skills of professionals in the sector and positioning Douala as a regional centre of excellence in maritime training.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Securing hazardous materials<\/strong>: Modernisation of storage and processing infrastructures for high-risk substances, ensuring strict compliance with international standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>A lasting commitment to the competitiveness of the PAD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Douala Port Security (DPS) Phase 3 project is the continuation of PAD&#8217;s commitment to world-class security and efficiency, in partnership with PORTSEC.
