The Port of Douala is the largest port in Central Africa. It is the main port of Cameroon and the busiest Central-African Port, with agreements that allow it to serve the countries of Chad and Central African Republic, which do not benefit from direct access to sea.
The port handles most of Cameroon’s export-import activities.
It handles most of the country’s major exports, such as oil, cocoa and coffee, wood, metals and fruits.
The Port of Douala security project has set new security standards and has complied with ISPS restrictions by deploying a 4-meter-height/25-meter-length anti-climb security fence, construction of 6 impressive main entrance gates and 25 checkpoints for automatic access validation to the restricted areas in the port, deployment of high tech surveillance system for detecting, alerting and preventing of any abnormal activity, VTMIS system for monitoring and controlling the security and safety of commercial vessels, and the deployment of 400 security agents to enforce security protocols and regulations.
